"Leave the pool you have dug for yourself and go out into the river of life...be a light unto yourself." - Jiddu Krishnamurti

“Mythology is not a lie, mythology is poetry, it is metaphorical. It has been well said that mythology is the penultimate truth--penultimate because the ultimate cannot be put into words. It is beyond words. Beyond images, beyond that bounding rim of the Buddhist Wheel of Becoming. Mythology pitches the mind beyond that rim, to what can be known but not told.”
― Joseph CampbellThe Power of Myth

i was a child when i first watched 'the power of myth', my father had an old videotape of it, recorded at some distant point in the past,
and it would be watched with and passed around friends and visitors. i have watched it numerous times and i still find myself hanging on campbell's every word. i recently found a copy of the book at a bookfair for $1 and spent much of my holiday completely, rapturously absorbed in his immense understanding of...everything....

/////////////////\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\/////////////////
i opened an etsy shop a little while ago.
 i am planning a trip to india next year and am trying to help bolster my meagre savings by hopefully selling my work and saving the money (...perversely having an etsy account has caused me to buy things off etsy...) so if any of you have ever wished to own a print,  please please i humbly beg, blue hands clasped together, that you buy one. i promise i won't spend the money on silk dresses, mexican sandals, afghani dresses, russian dolls.........

i wanted to say i appreciate your kindness and comments so much, and it would be nice to know you better. i love writing and receiving letters and postcards,
so please don't be shy.  i've met some lovely people this year this way. x x

we went on another journey round the sun - happy new year! i wish you all joy. x x m.

Like you, I've met some amazing people online. It's strange, kind of, to think that people you've never really 'met' can be so dear to you ... but it happens. It happens so often now. I wish you the best in planning your trip to India! Where you do plan on going? (My fiance has been there before, and he is desperate to visit again, with me in tow.) Also, since you are now selling prints (congrats! I'll try to spread the word about it as well), would you ever sell an image not posted? (For instance, if I went back into your archive and found one I absolutely melted over, would you want to make that one into a print?)
